"Makers & Takers (Mini Fake Pollock)" (2025) 14-by-8 inches, Rust-Oleum Protective Enamel oil paint (gloss) over collage and acrylic paint on canvas. A small-scale tribute to the great abstract expressionist painter. Inquire.

"Fire & Ice" (2026) 12-by-12 inches, acrylic paint and inks, sand, coffee grounds, coffee filters over joint compound on birch panel. Hat tip and many thanks to Molly Supplee (mollysuppleeart.com/) from whom I learned the technique via yourarie.com/artists

"Minneapolis in January" (2026) acrylic on canvas, 73-by-48 inches. Inspired by the deaths of Renée Good and Alex Pretti in Minneapolis, this painting exposes a moment when the federal government terrorized its own citizens as a political tool. The painting has no focal point, no rest for the eye; its expressive red palette suggests fury and chaos in the wake of the killings. This painting will be donated to an institution or gallery in Minneapolis. Proceeds from a sale will be given to the victims' families. Inquire.
Floral paintings.
Flowers are one of nature's greatest gifts. I like painting them on a textured canvas, which emphasizes the beauty of imperfection. I often use nontraditional materials such as plaster or joint compound mixed with coffee grounds and sand, to create movement and feeling.

About the artist
For many years, I was a journalist — a storyteller who worked with facts and the principle of verification to bring accurate news to readers. Now, I do something similar with painting, creating stories through paint and canvas that hopefully evoke a true feeling. Whenever possible, I try to use natural elements, including natural pigments, in my work.
